Rohe Noordwolde rattan peacock chair

Some pieces instantly catch my eye, and this chair was one of them. I was drawn to its sculptural silhouette, high backrest and beautifully woven rattan. The shape is often compared to a peacock’s tail, yet it still feels calm and understated enough to complement many different interiors.

This vintage chair was made by Rohe Noordwolde, a Dutch manufacturer celebrated for its beautifully crafted rattan furniture. Over the years, the natural rattan has developed a rich honey-toned patina that gives the chair even more character.

I can easily picture it in a bright living room, a cosy reading corner, a bedroom or a sunny conservatory. Even without a cushion, it has a strong presence and adds warmth to any space.

Please note that this chair is more of an aesthetic element than a proper stool to sit on, as the back bends a bit.
